Vagharshak Aramais Grigoryan (Armenian: Վաղարշակ Արամայիս Գրիգորյան, born in Martakert, Karabagh 1917 - died 1980) was a doctor of medicine and a respected professor.

Biography

Grigoryan was born in 1917 in the Arajadzor village of Martakert region. In 1941, Grigoryan graduated from Yerevan Medical Institute and soon thereafter was recruited to the Army. He was awarded with the Order of Patriotic War of 2nd degree, two Red Star Orders, other medals. In 1952 he received the degree of a doctor of medicine and the title of a professor in Moscow. Grigoryan worked at the 1st Medical Institute after Sechenov. In 1962 and 1963 he was awarded with a silver and gold medals at the All-Soviet Exhibition. For more than 25 years, Grigoryan was the scientific secretary of the Operating Committee of the All-Soviet Union of Surgeons and member of the Supreme Accreditation Commission. He died in 1980 at the age of 63.
