Biography

Trudy Frances Charlene Mackay FRS is a distinguished scientist, specializing in quantitative genetics, who was elected a fellow of the Royal Society in 2006. She is now at North Carolina State University, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is also responsible for establishing the Drosophila Genetic Reference Panel.
She received B.S. in 1974 and M.S. in 1976 in Biology from Dalhousie University and Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Edinburgh in 1979. She was awarded the Genetics Society of America Medal in 2004 and the Wolf Prize in Agriculture in 2016.
