Biography

Steven R. Gundry is an American cardiac surgeon and held the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery title while he was a Professor at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He has patented nine cardiac surgery devices and authored numerous papers in the field.

Career

Gundry graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in 1972 and went on to earn a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1977.

Gundry left his position as chairman of cardiothoracic surgery at Loma Linda Medical Center in 2002 to focus on food-based health interventions, recommending a plant-based diet and avoiding lectins. He also sells supplements he recommends.
