Biography
Solomon Serwanjja (born September 18, 1986) is a Ugandan investigative journalist and news anchor with NBSTV. In 2019 Serwanjja was awarded the Komla Dumor Award, an annual award given by the BBC to celebrate African journalists.
Life and career
Born in Entebbe, Uganda in 1986, Serwanjja was raised by his grandparents. Serwanjja studied at Kalinabiri primary school before going to Greenville High School for his 'O' Level education and then moved to St Mary's Boarding Secondary School Kitende for his 'A' level. Serwanjja then moved to Makerere University where he obtained a bachelors in Environmental Studies, a masters in Journalism & Communication and a postgraduate diploma in Investigative Journalism.
Serwanjja is also a United Nations Reham al-Farra Memorial Journalism fellow 2018 and has worked as a news anchor and reporter for several television stations in East Africa including NBS TV, KTN News, NTV Uganda, UBC TV.
Serwanjja is married to Vivian Serwanjja and they have four children: Amani, Imani, Upendo and Asante.
