Biography

Sir Lionel Tollemache, 1st Baronet (14 December 1562 – c. 1621) was an English baronet.

Lionel was the son and heir of Lionel Tallemache (1545 – 11 Dec 1575) and his wife, Susanna, daughter of Sir Ambrose Jermyn of Rushbrooke, Suffolk. He was baptised 10 December 1562 at Helmingham.

He served as High Sheriff of Suffolk 1592–93, 1608–09 and 1616–17, was created a Baronet, of Helmingham Hall in the County of Suffolk in the Baronetage of England, on 22 May 1611 and subsequently knighted at Whitehall on 24 May 1612.

He married Katharine Cromwell, daughter of Henry Cromwell, 2nd Baron Cromwell 10 February 1580/81 at North Elmham.

He was succeeded by his son and heir, Lionel.
