Sean Jones

Sean Jones is a Canadian Juno award-winning R&B singer/songwriter. His interpretive performances of R&B and Soul classics have won him fans from across Canada and the US.

Biography

Jones has been singing love songs from his formative years in high school, where he performed with an R&B vocal group "In Essence", a five-member group renowned for their spectacular harmonies and effortless ability to connect in both the R&B and Soul Music worlds. Acclaimed American DJ/producer FunkMaster Flex picked them up for management and the song "You Will Never Have Another" became a mix show radio hit throughout America. The success led to a multinational record label deal with BMG Music. In Essence's first album garnered two hit singles and videos. The group won both R&B video of the Year at Much Music and R&B recording at the Juno Awards. 

In 2008, he released his EP "This is Love", with carried the tracks "2 Wrongs", "Highway Enough", and "Spanish Angel". The EP led to a nationwide tour with Divine Brown. 

Over the years, Jones has performed at various domestic and international venues including Monaco, Italy; Hawaii; and at New York’s Carnegie Hall. 

In 2018, he opened for Ellen DeGeneres at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, and Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON.

in 2019, Jones and WestJet airlines partnered to produce a playlist titled "The Boarding Sessions" that features his original music, classic covers of iconic Canadian artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Burton Cummings (The Guess Who), Robbie Robertson (The Band), and Buffy Sainte-Marie; as well as a duet with Montreal based vocalist Florence K.
