Biography

Samuel Marbella Mangubat (born December 21, 1990), more popularly known as Sam Mangubat, is a Filipino singer, song-writer and YouTuber. He first gain popularity via online for his viral covers posted on his self-titled YouTube channel. He then rose to fame after joining on national television singing competition Tawag ng Tanghalan on the noon-time television show It's Showtime and became the first runner-up of the competition. He was dubbed as the Uploaded sa Galing ng Luzon during the whole course of competition.

Life and career

Long before Sam joined Tawag ng Tanghalan, his song covers are already hitting thousands of views on YouTube and Facebook. He is a singer-songwriter who rose to fame through his self-titled YouTube channel. He has earned more than 90,000+ subscribers posting song covers of artists like Shawn Mendes, Adele, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, etc.

On March 2017, Canadian musician Shawn Mendes commented on Sam Mangubat's acoustic rendition of his hit, "Mercy". Mendes said "He sounds amazing. This kid's killing it, it's one of the best covers I've ever seen." in an interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe a day before his concert at the Mall of Asia Arena.

In September 2017, Sam together with Noven Belleza and Marielle Montellano signed their respective contract under Star Music.
