Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Homoud Al-Sabah (born 1 October 1960) is the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs in Kuwait.
Family
- Married with five girls and two boys (named Sheikh Sabah and Sheikh Homoud).
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Political Science and Administration from Kuwait University.
Responsibilities and Missions (1982-2014)
- In 1982, he worked at His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s office as a Political Researcher.
- Served as Head of the Local Affairs division and the envoy of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s office at the National Assembly (Parliament).
- Appointed charge of managing the pleas and complaints submitted to His Highness, the Crown Prince’s Office.
- In 1988 he was transferred to the Ministry of Interior and appointed Deputy to the Director General. During this period, he joined a number of specialized training courses in the United Kingdom, Egypt and Kuwait.
- 1990-1991: Head of the Special Office in Ta’if in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the Iraqi invasion to the State of Kuwait.
- 1993: Appointed as the Director of the Administrative Authority in the National Guard with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary.
- 2002: Promoted to rank of Undersecretary.
- 2009: Appointed as an advisor to the Minister of Interior.
- 2011: Appointed the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.
- 2012: Named as the Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs
- 2013: Reappointed Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs.
Training Courses
- 2001: Joined a special High Command Course at Harvard University, J. F. Kennedy School for Political Science in Boston, USA.
- 2001: Joined a training Program on Information Technology (IT) and Electronic Government at London University of Management.
Sports History
- 1975: Became a shooter in the Hunting and Equestrian Club.
- 1981: Witnessed his first participation in an international tournament where he took part in the Arab Brotherhood Competition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and won the Gold Medal.
- 1983: Chairman of Kuwait Shooting Committee – set up by Kuwait Olympic Committee
- 1986: Chairman of Kuwait Shooting Committee, until The Kuwait Shooting Club was officially announced 1987, where he was elected as Head of the Arab Shooting Federation.
- 1994: Elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Shooting Club.
- 1995: Elected Chairman of the GCC Shooting Organizing Committee.
- 2004: Elected Chairman of the Asian Shooting Confederation.
- 2006: Elected a member of the administrative Council of the International Shooting Federation and a member of the Executive Committee. And In 2010, he was elected Vice President of International Shooting Federation.
