Biography

Ryan Jacobs (born 1989) is an American writer and magazine editor, known for his investigative reporting on international crime and other subjects of intrigue in The Atlantic, Mother Jones, and Pacific Standard. His first book, forthcoming from the Clarkson Potter imprint of Penguin Random House, focuses on crime in the international truffle trade. His work has been cited by the New York Times, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's 'Q' radio program, and author Naomi Klein.

He serves as the deputy editor of Pacific Standard magazine. Stories he has edited have received mention in the Best American Essays anthology and helped launch major books. In 2014, he led the Quick Studies section of the magazine's website to a Folio magazine Eddie award.
