Biography

Robert B. Davis (born June 23, 1926) graduated from MIT with a B.S, M.S, and Ph.D. (1951) in mathematics. He was a professor and researcher at the University of New Hampshire, Syracuse University and Rutgers University. He was one of the founders of the Madison Project, which spanned 15 years. The project is named for Madison Junior High School in Syracuse, where it began. The Madison Project explored how mathematics learning occurred.

Davis teamed-up with Carolyn A. Maher in the 1980s more NSF-funded studies.
