Biography
Phillip Mitsis (born 1950) is an American scholar, hellenist, and educator.
He is currently the Professor of Classics and Hellenic Studies at New York University and Affiliated Professor of Philosophy, as well as Academic Director of the American Institute for Verdi Studies. He is a past president of the Society for Ancient Greek Philosophy and a Fellow of the New York Institute for the Humanities.
