Biography

Philip Richardson (born 1958 in Devonport) is a New Zealand Anglican bishop. Since 2008, he has been the Bishop of Taranaki; one of two co-equal diocesan bishops of the Diocese of Waikato and Taranaki. Since 2013, he has also been the Senior Bishop of the New Zealand dioceses (Tikanga Pakeha); this makes him one of the three co-equal Archbishops and Primates of the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. From his consecration on 10 July 1999 until 2008, he was the suffragan Bishop in Taranaki under the diocesan Bishop of Waikato in the then-Diocese of Waikato.
