Phil Hanes

Ralph Philip "Phil" Hanes Jr. (February 25, 1926 - January 16, 2011), was an American businessman, conservationist, and patron of the arts. He was CEO of the Hanes Corporation from 1964 to 1976, and founder of Ampersand Inc., a consulting firm for non-profit organizations. Hanes donated the land that became Stone Mountain State Park to the state of North Carolina, served as chairman for the National Endowment for the Arts, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts board.
