Pedro Geoffroy Rivas (September 16, 1908 in Santa Ana, El Salvador – November 10, 1979 in San Salvador, El Salvador) was an anthropologist, poet, and linguist. His poetic work marked a landmark in Salvadoran poetic development. A rebellious, individualistic poet, Rivas incorporated in his poetry the freedom to express himself openly without fear of ordinariness or anthropocentric turns.
His work influenced Pablo Neruda. Rivas studied in Mexico at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
