Biography

Professor Nuhu George Obaje (born 15 Deceember, 1961) is a professor and Director in Centre for Applied Sciences and Technology Research (CASTER) at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai, Niger State.

Biography

Born and raised in a village at Kogi state. He attended the Barewa College Zaria, in 1974 for his senior certificate and graduate in 1979, then proceed to study Geology at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, he had is MS'c in 1987 and then went for his Ph'D in 1994 at University of Tuebingen Germany.

Professor Obaje had prospect of oil-gas basins in Bida and Sokoto speaking to Daily Trust with initiates of other basins, like Niger Delta include the Chad Basin, Bida Basin and then we have the Anambra and Sokoto basins as well as the Benue. He head the basinal studies in Nigerian petroleum corporation (NNPP), he also said that a fisical nature of cloud and Nigeria are lacking the pipe passage of petroleum, that's why it cost high in production of oil-gas.

Some of his achievements.

  • Royal Society of London (RSL) post-doctoral fellowship in Petroleum Geochemistry at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1997
  • The German Academic Exchange Service (GAES) postdoctoral fellowship in biostratigraphy at the University of Tuebingen, in 1998.
  • The Alexander von Humboldt research fellowship in organic geochemistry/organic petrology at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources in Hannover/Germany, on two separate occasions.
