Biography

Nicolas Constantin-Bicari (born 5 December 1991 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian water polo player. He lives in Repentigny, Quebec. He was part of the Canadian team at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships and 2015 World Aquatics Championships.

Personal

Nicolas Constantin-Bicari was born on 5 December 1991 in Montreal, Quebec, to Sylvain Bicari and Linda Constantin. He has an older brother David. 

Career

Inspired by his brother and cousins, Constantin-Bicari started playing water polo when he was 5 years old. At the 2010 Junior Pan American Championships he helped Canada make history in winning the gold medal. He had joined the senior national team a year earlier and helped the men to a best-ever eight place finish at the 2009 FINA World Championships. He also competed at the world championships in 2011 and 2013. 

At the 2011 Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Constantin-Bicari was ranked sixth in goals scored, with 10 of his 21 shots reaching the back of the net, as Canada won the silver medal. He went on to be the second highest scorer at the 2014 FINA Water Polo World League Super Final, recording 16 goals in six games. Shortly thereafter, he signed a professional contract with Jug Dubrovnik, a revered Croatian club that is the equivalent of one of the NHL’s Original Six teams. He had previously played in Marseille, France.
