Biography
Nick Peel is a British Labour politician and since May 2023 is leader of Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council. As leader he is also a member of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and is the combined authority's portfolio lead for the Digital City-Region.
First elected to the council in 2000, Peel is a councillor for the ward of Tonge with the Haulgh in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, and since May 2020 has been the Labour group leader. He was elected leader of the council in May 2023 following that year's local election after the Labour Party took minority control of the authority.
