Hubert Clarence "Nick" Knilans DSO DFC (December 27, 1917 - June 1, 2012) was an American bomber pilot who served with the RCAF and RAF during the Second World War.
Born in Delevan, Wisconsin, he was conscripted by the United States Army in 1941, but wanting to fly, he absconded to Canada and joined the RCAF. He flew with No. 619 Squadron RAF and No. 617 Squadron RAF. He transferred to the USAAF, with corresponding pay rise, but was seconded back to the RAF.
He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1944, Commonwealth Distinguished Flying Cross, US Distinguished Flying Cross, 5 Air Medals.
He took part in various raids with the famous "Dambusters", including Operation Taxable, Operation Paravane, the attacks on Tirpitz.
