Na Jae-min

Na Jae-min (Korean: 나재민; born 13 August 2000), known professionally by the mononym Jaemin (Hangul: 재민), is a South Korean dancer, rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor based in Seoul, South Korea. He is a member of South-Korean boy group NCT., as a part of their sub-unit NCT Dream

Early life

Jaemin was born in Jeonju, South Korea on 13 August 2000. He studied at Incheon Cheong-il Elementary School; he also studied at Incheon Haewon Middle School and School of Performing Arts Seoul before droppingout of both. He was street-casted by SM Entertainment‘s staff while handing out posters and collecting trash as a volunteer with his mom at an event.

Career

SM Rookies

Jaemin appeared in the 9th and 10th episodes of EXO 90:2014 alongside with SM Rookies (now NCT) Jeno, Jisung, Mark, Haechan, BoA (9th ep. special guest) and Lim Changjung (10th ep. special guest).

He was featured in several SM Rookies events like SM Town Live World Tour IV (2014-2015) before being formally introduced on April 22, 2015.

NCT Dream

On August 25, 2016, Jaemin (after 3 years of training) debuted as a member of NCT Dream with the single "Chewing Gum" alongside with Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Chenle, and Jisung. Their debut stage was on August 25 on M Countdown. NCT Dream is the third sub-unit of South Korean boy group NCT. The group follows an admission-graduation system, where they graduate from the unit after reaching the Korean age of 20 (19 years old, international age).

On February 1, 2017, SM Entertainment announced that NCT Dream would release their first single album, 'The First'. However, Jaemin did not participate in the release due to complications from a herniated disc. On March 4, 2018, NCT Dream released their single, "Go", which was included in NCT's first album, NCT 2018 Empathy. It also marked the group's first comeback with Jaemin since their debut.
