Biography

Muhammad Amin Khan

Muhammad Amin Khan Turani (died 28 January 1721), was the Grand Vizier of the Mughal Empire during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah and cousin of Kilich Khan Bahadur. He is known to have served the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb during his early years.

Muhammad Amin Khan Turani, was troubled by the rise of the Sayyid Brothers and helped overthrow them in the year 1720. After his death Chin Qilich Khan was appointed Grand Vizier of the Mughal Empire.

Later on his own son Qamar-al-din Khan was appointed Grand Vizier, he died during the Battle of Manupur (1748) against the forces of Ahmad Shah Durrani.

The Mughal viceroy of the Punjab, Zakariya Khan Bahadur was married to the daughter of Muhammad Amin Khan Turani. His father Abdus Samad Khan Bahadur was married to the sister of Muhammad Amin Khan Turani.
