Biography

Mick Burns (7 June 1908 – 5 September 1982) was an English professional footballer. During his career he made over 100 appearances for Newcastle United and over 150 appearances for Ipswich Town. He was born in Leeholme.
He played his last Football League game for Ipswich in the Third Division South on 6 October 1951, meaning that almost 60 years later he is still among the oldest players ever to have appeared in the Football League - having been 121 days past his 43rd birthday when he bowed out. [1]
