Michael McNamara is a former player and captain for Sligo Rovers. He currently plays for the Sligo. In his first year with the Sligo Gaelic football team, they won the Connacht Championship for the first time since 1975 after beating Galway. A former member of the Arcadia Broncos lacrosse team, McNamara takes the aggressiveness of being a lacrosse defender to the pitch.
