Biography

Michael Victor Lunn QC (born 1950) is a current vice-president of the Hong Kong Court of Appeal.

Early life

Lunn was born in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe); was educated in England, where he began his legal career; and moved to Hong Kong in 1979, working initially as a state lawyer and then, for over twenty years, in private practice.

Judicial career

Lunn was appointed to the High Court in 2003. He became a judge of the Court of Appeal in 2011 and one of its vice-presidents in 2014.

Lunn chaired the Market Misconduct Tribunal for seven years and led the inquiry into the 2012 Lamma Island ferry collision.
