Biography

Michael Knight is an American writer from Mobile, Alabama. He has received numerous awards, including the New Writing Award from the Fellowship of Southern Writers and the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award Special Citation, both in 1999, and the Henfield Foundation Award for Fiction in 1996.

Education

Knight received his MFA from the University of Virginia, his MA from The University of Southern Mississippi, and his BA from Hampden-Sydney College. Currently he is the director of the creative writing program of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
