Biography

Micah Balfour (born 18 July 1978) is an English actor, most notable for portraying PC Benjamin Gayle in the ITV police drama 'The Bill' from 2007 to 2010. He arrived on the screen on 27 September 2007 on the episode 'Media Frenzy'. Benjamin replaced PC Leela Kapoor, who left Sun Hill the day before. During his time on the programme, his only love interest was PC Sally Armstrong, played by Ali Bastian, who left the show in December 2009. Before his regular role as PC Benjamin Gayle, Balfour appeared in 'The Bill' in early 2006 as the guest star villain Asher Cambell in five episodes, and they decided to have him back in the series as a uniformed PC. Before The Bill, Balfour worked in: 'Absolute Beginners' at 'The Lyric Hammersmith' (3 May 2007 – 26 May 2007) as Mr Cool, 'The Royal Hunt Of The Sun' at 'The National Theatre' - Olivier Theatre (12 Apr 2006 – 13 May 2006) as Manco, 'Market Boy' at 'The National Theatre' - Olivier Theatre (6 Jun 2006 – 22 Aug 2006) as Colonel Blood/Flypitcher, and in 'The Time of Your Life' as Boris.
