Biography

Meldon John Wolfgang (March 20, 1890 – June 30, 1947) was a professional baseball pitcher. He played all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox from 1914 to 1918.
Mel Wolfgang's best big-league season was his first. He threw nine complete games, including a pair of shutouts, and finished the season with a record of 9-5. But he won just six more games over the remainder of his Major League career. He did not appear for the White Sox during the 1917 World Series.
