MV Nikesh Kumar is a media person in Kerala, India. He is the Managing Director of Reporter TV, a Malayalam news channel. M V Nikesh Kumar holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Mar Ivaneous College Trivandrum. He started his career as a news reporter in Asianet; later moved onto Indiavision, anchoring various programs based on contemporary social and political issues.He anchored Newsnight every day at 09.00 pm.
At REPORTER, he anchored Kerala's most viewed daily 9 PM show 'Editor's Hour', political discussion show which discuss the politics that affects the state. He also anchored the weekly interview programme "Close Encounter", in which he interviews the socio-political leaders of Kerala, a hard core debate. Nikesh Kumar decided to contest in upcoming Kerala Legislative assembly as CPI (M) candidate from Azhikkode Assembly Constituency in Kannur district of Kerala. M.V Nikesh Kumar said he is entering electoral arena after quitting journalism.
Nikesh Kumar is the youngest son of the late CMP leader and former minister M. V. Raghavan. Nikesh Kumar moved away from Journalism to Politics and decided to contest for LDF from Azhikode constituency in Kerala. In the 2016 Kerala Assembly Elections he contested against KM Shaji of Indian Union Muslim League. However, M.V. Nikesh Kumar lost in that elections by a margin of 2284. He is married to Rani and has two children - Sankaran and Janaki.
