Biography

Lewis Bliss Whittemore (June 17, 1885 - December 5, 1965) was third bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Michigan.

Whittlemore was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He was a graduate of Yale College and Berkeley Divinity School. Whittlemore died on December 5, 1965 in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. He was reported to have delivered the first radio broadcast sermon in history in 1921.
