Lencho Leta is an Oromo politician and activist.
Lencho Leta was the former Deputy Secretary General of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) in the 1980s and the 1990s, during the time it was part of the Ethiopian Transitional Government. The OLF was later defeated by the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), a former ally. After a falling out with OLF members, Lencho Leta eventually turned his views from the independence of Oromia (the Oromo homeland) toward democratizing Ethiopia. He had a mission in the horn of Africa.
