Biography

Kenneth W. Reeves (May 22, 1961 – March 25, 2012) was a meteorologist with the American media company AccuWeather from 1983 until his death in 2012.

Life and career

Kenneth W. Reeves was born on May 22, 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Frank H. Reeves and Arlette Espenshade Reeves. Ken graduated from Abington High School in 1979, and went on to attend Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 1983 with a B.S. in meteorology. Ken joined AccuWeather the same year as a meteorologist, and during his time at AccuWeather, in the words of AccuWeather Chief Executive Officer Barry Lee Myers, "...was a person of great energy" and "was liked by all."

Reeves met his wife Raychel Harvey-Jones in 2008, and they married on October 1, 2011.

Death

On March 25, 2012, Reeves fell from the roof of his house as he took down Christmas lights and hit his head, suffering head trauma. He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His funeral services were held at the State College Presbyterian Church in State College, Pennsylvania. Ken is survived by his wife Raychel, his parents, a brother and a sister.
