Biography

Kaissar Saady al-Juboory is a soldier in the Iraqi Army under investigation in an incident where he shot five and killed two of his U.S. military colleagues during a routine military patrol in Mosul. The Association of Muslim Scholars, a Sunni Muslim group which currently forms part of the Iraqi parliament's opposition, have released reports that al-Juboory shot his U.S. colleagues in response to civilian abuse. The report claims that his American counterparts were pulling the hair of women and physically assaulting one pregnant woman. Regarding the incident, one army officer speaking on condition of anonymity described Kaissar's act as heroic. "Those Americans learned their lesson once more." he stated.

Al-Juboory was apprehended after the incident and is currently in prison awaiting trial in an Iraqi court on charges of homicide and treason. The families of the American soldiers are being kept informed of the status of the investigation and the trial by the U.S. Army.

The two U.S. soldiers killed were Capt. Rowdy Inman and Sgt. Benjamin Portell.

Al-Juboory was recently convicted in the deaths of Capt. Inman and Sgt. Portell, in a trial heavily attended by Americans. He was sentenced to life in prison.
