Biography

Julia Kohnen is an American professional marathon runner.

In 2019, she won the Twin Cities Marathon in Minnesota with a time of 2:31:29. Before her win in Minnesota, she raced the 2017 Chicago Marathon, finishing in 17th place with a time of 2:39:11.

Before starting her running career, she played soccer at University of Southern Indiana, whilst studying for a bachelor's degree in marketing and management. She started running for fitness and ended up becoming an NCAA All-American in cross country and track events of 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters.

Kohnen ran in the 2020 Woman's Olympic Trials Marathon February 29, 2020, in Atlanta, Georgia. She finished 10th with a time of 2:30:43.
