Joseph Baena

Joseph Baena (born 2 October 1997) is an American bodybuilder and aspiring actor. He is the son of Austrian-American professional bodybuilder turned action film star Arnold Schwarzenegger and his former Guatemalan housekeeper, Mildred Baena.

His name made the news in 2011 when on May 16, 2011, the Los Angeles Times revealed that Schwarzenegger and his former housekeeper Mildred Baena had a love child, Joseph Baena in 1997. Schwarzenegger had been married to former TV journalist Maria Shriver (niece of the late President John F. Kennedy and fourth cousin of tennis player Pam Shriver), since 1986. Following the news, Schwarzenegger, in May 2011, publicly admitted of fathering a child with Baena. Shriver filed for divorce on July 1, 2011, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Baena studied business at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Schwarzenegger attended his graduation ceremony and later also tweeted his congratulations.

He is active on his Instagram projoe2 where he regularly posts fitness related images and videos. His father is also seen with him now and then.

On 8 April 2020, he posted on Instagram a picture of him replicating his father's icon bodybuilding pose. "Perfect time to practice some posing!", he captioned the post. The image went viral, collecting over 25,000 likes in a matter of days.

He had done a similar post in January 2019, as well.

Personal life

Baena is currently dating financial planner Nicky Dodaj. The two had met while attending Pepperdine University in Malibu.
