Jonathan Serrie

Jonathan Serrie is an American journalist. 

He is currently a correspondent for Fox news, covering Southern politics, the CDC, health, science and breaking news. 

Early and education

Jonathan Serrie was born in 1965, in Beloit, Wisconsin. 

In the years 1983 – 1987, he attended Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and English. While at the university, he was the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper The Emory Wheel.

Career

After graduation, Serrie worked as a general assignment reporter for WWSB-TV Sarasota, FL (1987-1989); WYFF-TV, Greenville, SC (1989-1994); and WSB-TV, Atlanta, GA (1994-1999).

In 1999, he joined Fox News and worked in the channel's Los Angeles and Seattle bureaus and covered the 1999 World Trade Organization riots and the 2001 Seattle earthquake. He has been working from Fox, since.

In 2001, he became the correspondent for the channel in the Atlanta bureau. He covered Operation Allied Force from NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium; Kačanik, Kosovo; and Skopje, Macedonia. He was stationed in Qarshi, Uzbekistan during the initial phase of Operation Enduring Freedom. He has also reported from Afghanistan, covering the battle at Qala-i-Jangi in Mazar-i-Sharif and on the establishment of the post-Taliban government in Kabul.

Serrie had reported live from Sanford, FL to cover the George Zimmerman murder trial and shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. He had also provided live coverage of the 2012 campaign finance fraud trial of John Edwards, the former Democratic senator from North Carolina and nominee for vice-president in 2004.

In the years 2005-2013, he hosted On the Record with Brit Hume, on Fox News. In 2013, he appeared as Fox News Correspondent on Shepard Smith Reporting. In 2012-2018, he hosted Fox News show, Happening Now. In 2015-2018, he was seen in various episodes of Fox and Friends, alongside Ainsley Earhardt, Heather Childers, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, Trish Regan, and Pete Hegseth.
