Biography

Jonathan Edward Humphrey Minchin (February 1916—December 9, 1967) was an English soldier.

Jonathan Minchin was born in February 1916 in Ireland to Edward Anthony Minchinand Cicely Mildred O'Carroll Darby.

He was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.

Minchin was commissioned in 1937, in the service of the Prince of Wales 3rd Dragoon Guards. He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1943.

Personal life

Minchin was married to Nancy Sylvia McGillycuddy (daughter of Major Daniel De Courcy McGillycuddy and Lilian Sophia Jane Cleeve) on 26 July 1941 in Poole, Dorset, England.

They had one son—Jonathan Daniel De Courcy Edward Minchin. He was the manufacturer of Minchinite Rat Bait, which became a household name.

Death

Minchin passed away on December 9, 1967, at age 51.
