John J. Tallmadge was mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Tallmadge was born on January 10, 1818, in Claverack, New York. He moved to Milwaukee in 1855. Tallmadge died on October 16, 1873, in Summit, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
Tallmadge was mayor of Milwaukee from 1865 to 1866 as a member of the Democratic Party. He unsuccessfully ran for governor of Wisconsin in 1867, losing to incumbent Lucius Fairchild.
