John Bentley (March 23, 1822–March 5, 1894) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Bentley was born on March 23, 1822 in Newtown, Wales. He settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1848. He died there on March 5, 1894.
Bentley was a member of the Assembly in 1863 and again from 1878 to 1880. Previously, he had been Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Lake, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. From 1883 to 1884, Bentley was Sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. He had previously been an unsuccessful candidate for the position in 1880. Additionally, Bentley was a County Supervisor and a Milwaukee alderman (similar to city councilman). He was a Democrat.
