Biography

Joel Camargo (September 18, 1946 – May 23, 2014) was a Brazilian football player from Santos, São Paulo.

During his club career he played for:

  • 1963 Associação Atlética Portuguesa
  • 1963-1971 Santos FC
  • 1971-1972 Paris Saint-Germain
  • 1973 Saad

He played only two matches for PSG before leaving the club.

Joel was a defender of the Brazil national football team when they won the 1970 FIFA World Cup. He earned 28 caps for Brazil between 1964 and 1970 (plus 10 unofficial matches).

He died of kidney failure at age 67 on May 23, 2014.
