Joe Irvin is the Chief Executive of Living Streets the UK charity that campaigns for pedestrians. He was formerly CEO of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action. He was previously a British Labour Party politician who was a political advisor to Gordon Brown during his term as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He has in the past worked as special advisor to Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, as well as for the Transport and General Workers' Union, BAA and the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds).
He is married to Diana Holland, Assistant General Secretary of Unite trade union and Treasurer of the Labour Party.
