Biography

Jim Liddell was a Hong Kong First Division League player for the Hong Kong Rangers FC as goalkeeper between 1973 and 1976. The team of the 1974/75 season was arguably the best team in Rangers history, winning the Viceroy Cup and Senior Shield in that season. Players in that team included Willie Henderson, Kwok Ka Ming, Lai Wing Fu, Chung Kai Ming, Alex Willoughby, Tang Hung Cheung, and Wong Chin Kin. Liddell returned to his native Scotland to play three seasons with Greenock Morton before returning to play in Hong Kong with Blake Garden and Eastern. He was awarded the MVP trophy and Goalkeeper of the Year for the 1974/75 season. Liddell was selected to represent Hong Kong, the most notable fixtures being against New York Cosmos and the China national team in the early 1980s
