Biography

James "Jimmy" Lanigan (born 1911) was an Irish hurler who played as a left wing-back for the Tipperary senior team.
Lanigan made his first appearance for the team during the 1930 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1940 championship. During that time he won two All-Ireland medals and one Munster medal. Lanigan captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 1937.
At club level Lanigan was a nine-time county club championship medalist with Thurles Sarsfields.
