Biography

Jemma Green (born April 7, 1979) is an Australian environmental scientist, entrepreneur and author.

Early life

Green was born in Perth, Australia in 1979. Her mother, Luciana, an Italian immigrant, is a public servant. Her father John (deceased) was an Irish born thoroughbred horse breeder and trainer.

Career

Green worked in JP Morgan’s London-based Global Environmental and Social Risk Management office. In 2013, she repatriated to Australia, working as a Research Fellow at Curtin University Sustainability Policy (CUSP) Institute, she is also on the Advisory Board to the Carbon Tracker Initiative, a London-based research NGO and is also on the Advisory Board of 1 Million Women. Jemma Green was elected as a councillor at the City of Perth in October 2015. In 2016, Jemma was made a 40under40 winner by Western Australian Business News. In 2016, Jemma cofounded and is chair of Power Ledger, a blockchain energy company that enables peer-to-peer trading of electricity.
