Biography

Jayantha Seneviratne is a former cricketer who represented first-class cricket for the Ceylon team (later Sri Lanka) from 1973 to 1980 playing in five unofficial Test matches against India, Pakistan and the West Indies.

Life

He was educated at Nalanda College Colombo and played cricket for the college first XI team from 1968 to 70. After leaving school, Jayantha played cricket for Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club in Colombo. Later he represented Sri Lanka by playing for Ceylon Board President's XI, Sri Lanka Board President's XI.

Cricket administration

Jayantha is a former national selector and national coaching committee member of Sri Lanka Cricket, the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. Jayantha also had been a one time cricket coach for Bhutan representing Asian Cricket Council. Jayantha besides being a highly qualified cricket coach has served as a curator too.
