Biography

Jak Mark Suma was the vice consul of Venice and then Austria, as well as a dragoman, in service of Venice, living in Shkodër, in the 1796. He was the son of Kolë Suma Heqimi, the first Albanian doctor. In 1778, Mahmud Pasha proposed to elect Suma as the vice consul of Shkodër. On October 1, 1785, Suma notified the trade office for the competition that the Ulcinj ships make to Venetian in Shkodër.
