Biography

Ioan Arbore (born 1892, died 1954) was a Romanian Major-General during World War II. He began his career as the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Fortress Brigade in 1941, and as the Commanding Officer of the 3rd Mixed Fortress Brigade later that year. In 1942, he was the Chief of Staff, 3rd Army. In 1943, he served as the Under-Secretary of Supply. He went into reserve in 1944 and retired in 1945, but was arrested the following year and condemned to ten years of imprisonment as a traitor in 1948. He died in prison.
