Ihor Samunenkov is a Ukrainian chess player. A chess prodigy, he holds the title of International Master.
In December 2021, Samunenkov won the U12 Youth Super Final chess tournament by defeating the world's youngest grandmaster Abhimanyu Mishra. That same month, he participated in the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Tournaments, and was the youngest player in the events. He finished 89th and 128th in fields of 176 and 179 players, respectively.
In October 2022, Samunenkov finished 11th (and was a prize winner) in a field of 30 players in the Anfield Cup held in Kyiv.
Samunenkov was invited to participate as a wild card in the FIDE Grand Swiss Tournament 2023. He got his only win of the event against Michał Krasenkow in the sixth round.
