Biography

Henrik Teofilus Scheffer (December 28, 1710 in Stockholm – August 10, 1759 in Stockholm) was a Swedish chemist. He is notable for his 1752 survey of platinum, which at that time was just recognized to be an unknown precious metal. His Chemical Lectures (published by Torbern Bergman 1775, third edition 1796) was an essential chemistry study in Sweden.
