Biography

Guy Bennett is a poet/translator and author. He has a Ph.D. in French Literature from UCLA. Recent collections of poetry include Self-Evident Poems (2011), and, with Béatrice Mousli, of Poésies des deux mondes: un dialogue franco-américain à travers les revues, 1850-2004 (Paris: Ent'revues, 2004). His poems have appeared in magazines and anthologies in Brazil, Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, and the USA. Recent translations include works by Nicole Brossard, Jean-Michel Espitallier, Mostafa Nissabouri, Valère Novarina, Jacques Roubaud, and Giovanna Sandri. Guy Bennett is the publisher of Mindmade Books, co-editor of Otis Books | Seismicity Editions, and is a contributing editor to the New Review of Literature (USA) and Électron Libre (Morocco). He lives in Los Angeles and is a Professor in the Liberal Arts and Sciences Department and in the Graduate Writing program at Otis College of Art and Design.

Honors

Named Chevalier de l’Ordre des palmes académiques by the French Minister of Education in April 2005.
