Biography

Günter Hermanns was a Classical recording engineer and producer. He worked exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft as an engineer from the late 1950s until the 1980s, then later as an editor and recording consultant until the late 1990s. During his time at Deutsche Grammophon, he recorded and worked with Herbert von Karajan and the Berliner Philharmoniker very closely. He also recorded Claudio Abbado, Mstislav Rostropovich, Karl Böhm, Plácido Domingo, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Wilhelm Kempff, Carlo Maria Giulini, Rafael Kubelik, and others.
