Around that time, he also appeared in many national commercials. A few years later, he started a reggae/hip-hop fusion band named "Cipes and the People," and at the age of 16, recorded and self-produced his first single which went on to become a South Florida dance club hit. Their first album, Conscious Revolution, was released by High Valley Entertainment on September 18, 2007. One of the songs of the album, "Rescue," features teenage pop star Jesse McCartney

Acting

In 2001, aged 21, Cipes relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting, although he had made his television debut a few years ago in 1998, with a minor role in the TV series Miami Sands, starring Jennifer TaylorJames Hyde, and Jenna Gering

In 2001, he made his film debut in director Ty Bradford's horror/thriller Do You Wanna Know a Secret? (starring Michael Sarysz, Dorie Barton, and Joey Lawrence).

In 2003, Cipes landed the recurring role of "Will Johnston" in the television series Peacemakers. In the same year, he was recruited as a voice-over artist for various characters of the television animation series Teen Titans. His voice was heard in 63 episodes of the series through 2006.

In 2004, he was cast as "Jesse" in the TV series One on One. After appearing as Jesse in the March 2004 episode "Spy Games Reloaded", he portrayed the character of "Butter" in six later episodes of the series.

Over the following years, he lent his voice to a wide range of characters in a variety of television series such as Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! (2004-2006), W.I.T.C.H. (2004-2006), Ben 10: Alien Force (2008-2010), SciGirls (2010), Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (2010-2012), Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2012), Fish Hooks (2011-2013), Ultimate Spider-Man (2012-2017), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012-2017), and Ben 10 (2016-2019).

His voice has had a long association with the character "Beast Boy," which he has performed in several TV series and video games over the years. He first voiced the character in the 2004 video game Teen Titans: Calling All Titans! and continued with the character in several other productions including Teen Titans (2003-2006), New Teen Titans (2011-2012), Lego Dimensions (Video Game, 2015), and Teen Titans Go! (2013-2020.)

Most recently, in 2020, Cipes was the voice behind the primary character of "Peanut" in the comedy animation Adventures in Wonder Park. The other leading voices in the series are Ken Hudson Campbell (of Boomer), Rachael MacFarlane (of Greta), and Kevin Michael Richardson (of Gus).

Other TV appearances

Cipes was a part of the MTV reality television show Twentyfourseven, which aired for eight episodes from December 6, 2006, to February 21, 2007. The show faced low ratings and some viewers suspected that certain parts of the show were staged for dramatic effect; for example, Cipes was presented as a singer new to the Los Angeles music scene, despite that he has had a successful career in show business as an actor, musician and voice artist. The show was canceled after the first season.

In 2011, Cipes appeared as a man camping out in Roseanne Barr's yard in her television series Roseanne's Nuts. He also made appearances in the television series Deadwood and Gilmore Girls, in the season four episode "Ted Koppel's Big Night Out" (aired 18 November 2003).

He also guest-starred in the episode titled "Love Still Won't Die" of the TV series Ghost Whisperer (aired 29 September 2006.)
